A strong growing herbaceous
perennial, best known for the orange seed pods produced in autumn. Sun or part
shade, any good soil.

Sow from February to
April on to the surface of moist seed compost in a seed tray or shallow pot and cover with approximately
sieved compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or cover with polythene
to maintain humidity. Keep at 18 to 20c and germination should
take place within 7 to 10 days. Maintain a temperature of 10 to 15c after
germination, in a well lit position avoiding direct sunlight. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 3"
pots and grow on in a greenhouse or sheltered spot. Once established, plant in
final position and do not allow to dry out for the first few weeks.
